Pushchair and Stroller Buying Guide
When you’re searching for a pushchair or a stroller, there’s a good chance that you’ll get confused with the enormous amount of choice that you have, particularly if it’s your first time looking to buy one! Some people think that you can just walk in to a shop and pick out any pushchair or stroller and that’s it, but this isn’t necessarily the case. Just like any other product, there are a wide variety of them on the market, so it’s quite important that you know the good from the bad along with which one is best for your own needs.
There are a few things that you should take in to consideration before searching for the perfect pushchair or stroller for your child, here are the main ones that you should think about:

1. Public Transport – If you use public transport on a regular basis, it’s recommend that you buy a folding pushchair/stroller. It’ll make your life much easier. Nobody wants to be feeling as if they’re in the way every time you get on a bus or train.

2. Car Size – It’s a really good idea to find out the dimensions of your car boot so that you can compare it with the dimensions of the pushchair while it’s folded. Most of the time, these dimensions would be on the box of the product, so you can find out the size before buying it. If you can’t find it there, ask someone that works for the store (if you’re shopping in a shop) to fold up a display model so you can see how big it is.

3. Walking – If you walk a lot more than you drive or use public transport, it’s a great idea to get a pushchair / stroller which has swivel wheels as this makes it much easier to handle. If you walk for an hour or two each day, you really don’t want to be struggling on every turn that you make, do you?

As you probably know by now, there are lots of different types of pushchairs and strollers, but which one suits you and your child? Here are some of the most well-known types:

• Three In Ones – These are one of the most popular types of pushchairs at the moment, and there are several reasons for this. Mainly, due to them being able to use for newborn babies all the way up to toddlers. This is really great since there will be no need for you to buy another pushchair a year or two later. Although these may appear to be one of the most expensive types of strollers, you can be sure that it’ll save you money in the long run. So it’s well worth considering buying a three in one.

• Two In Ones – Two in ones are the exact same as three in ones, apart from one tiny little difference, it isn’t possible to detach a carry cot from it. Some people may need a carry cot, but if you don’t a two in one may be just perfect for you and it’s also usually a little bit cheaper than a three in one for obvious reasons.

• Travel System – As the name suggests, this type of pushchair is aimed at people who travel on a regular basis. Nearly all of them have a carry cot, as well as having a clip-on car seat which makes it really easy for your child to be able to travel in the car with you at all times. It’s important to mention that you shouldn’t leave a newborn baby in a car seat for a long period of time.

• Three Wheeler – Once again, the name pretty much tells you everything that you need to know. If you want to stand out from the crowd, a three wheeler is for you. Not only this though, since it has three wheels it makes it so much easier to steer, which is always an added bonus!

• Upright Pram – If you don’t know what an upright pram is, you more than likely had one yourself when you were younger. It does everything that you need it to do, but most newborns will outgrow it in a relatively short period of time.

• Lightweight Stroller – The lightweight stroller is perfect for those of us who want to be able to travel with our children without too much hassle. Most aren’t aimed at the newborn baby market, but there are some that are suitable for newborns. These types of strollers can be folded in a matter of seconds, making it easy to move from place to place.

Car Seat Buying Guide
There once was a time when using a car seat for your child was optional, but nowadays it’s the law, one law that all of us agree with. If you have a child that’s either under twelve years old or under 135cm in height, then you are required to have a car seat for them, although most people would be smart enough to use a car seat without the need of a law forcing them in to doing it. So, if you’re searching for a good car seat for your child, where should you start? Here are some top tips when you want to buy a new car seat:
1. Childs Weight – You’d be surprised how many people don’t know that certain car seats are made for children of a certain weight. There’s no point buying a car seat if it’s not made specifically for your child’s weight, you might think it doesn’t make a difference but you can be sure that it would if your child was in an accident. Don’t just assume that all car seats are made for the same purpose, as they aren’t.
2. Is Your Car Seat Made For Your Car – Believe it or not, only two out of ten car seats that are fitted in cars are the right ones for that car model. This means that eight out of ten people have the incorrect car seat for their car, which really isn’t good.
3. Can You Fit A Car Seat – Many people think that fitting a car seat is an easy job that only takes a few minutes, but sometimes it can be quite difficult to do. Ensure that you read all instructions and take your time fitting it properly.

Now that you know a couple of tips for when you’re thinking of purchasing a car seat, you need to know the difference between different types of car seats, here they are:
• Group 0 – Group 0 seats are made for newborns, they can usually be used from birth all the way up to six to nine months old. This group of car seats can be used in either the front seat or the back seat of the car, so it gives you a little bit of choice.
• Group 0+ – Group 0+ is basically the same as group 0 apart from a few little differences. The main difference would be that it can be used for children up to 13 kg instead of only 10kg like the previous group. This usually means that it can be used for children from the age of a year up to 15 months old.
• Group 0+ to Group 1 – Group 1 car seats are rear-facing and forward-facing car seats which can be used for children up to the age of 4 years old. What makes these types of car seats even better is the fact that it can be used from birth all the way up to 4 years old, so you’ll get a decent amount of time from it. The previous two groups could only be used for a couple of months, so group 1 is much better.
• Group 1, 2 and 3 – This group is great if you want to get a very long time out of the same car seat. Although it’s not recommended for children under the age of 9 months, it can be used until your child is 12. So it might be a good idea to get a lower group car seat and then upgrade once your child reaches 9 months old, then you don’t have to buy another car seat in the future. A booster seat is usually used for children that are a bit older on this group of car seats.
• Group 2 to 3 – These types of car seats are perfect for children which are around 15-35kg (which is usually around the age 5 to 12). Booster seats can often come with these car seats which allow the child to use a normal seat belt while travelling.
